Through this research we found a resounding answer that 85% of all visitors as well as locals use the internet in some form or another before they pick products or services they want to buy. When asked where they found what they wanted, most said that they found festivals, fairs and lodging information easily on the internet but getting good accurate information about local companies products and services was a hit or miss proposition at best. Cabin owners said they would like to know more informative information about contractors and repair person’s reputations before they had some thing done or built.

When visitors were asked what would help in their stay and influence them in buying products or use of services in the Blue Ridge Mountains; they resoundingly said a great web site would make things easier, one site where everything they were looking to do or buy was available. A web site which listed each company’s products and services with good graphic content and specific quality information about those products or services along with any sales or promotions these establishments where having.

They also told us why they visit the North Georgia mountain area. quaint little towns, relaxed life style, clean fresh air, the many beautiful rivers and streams, wonderful festivals, beautiful back roads, exciting fall colors, the magnificent lake and mountain views and the varied array of mountain sports, boating, hiking and mountain biking are just a few of the reasons. They said that when they are up here the local people make them feel welcomed, comfortable, and as if they are part of the community.

We asked what they do when they are not here, many of them told us about their jobs and lives but said they go to their computers often from time to time to research information to plan their next trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains. They look for information about rental cabins, restaurants, real estate for sale, festivals and events, along with many other things that are happening throughout the mountains. They also said they like to look at local businesses sites that have changing content about their products or services they could use to improve their lives and time up here.
