My name is BJ McFalls, I am 58 years old, 5'2".  I live in Blairsville, GA.  I have been out of work since the end of Jan when my job was downsized.  For the past 8 years I was the District Coordinator for the Blairsville branch of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.  For several years before that I was self employed as a seamstress, sewing for the public in Murphy NC.  I am a very creative person with the talent to do many things well. I sew, knit, crochet, make jewelry, and am very good with working with computers.  I have great people skills.  I have a vibrant personality and can get along even with disgruntled people.  One of my favorite things to do when I am not working is community theater where I have had several roles on stage, am in demand as stage manager for some directors, have done costumes for several plays and just completed a stint as assistant director for "Oklahoma".  These things may not say a lot about job skills except that I can take charge of a situation and make things happen.  I would like the opportunity to possibly be an  assistant  manager of  an office or business  with  possible advancement to  management if the opportunity  arose.  One of the best compliments  I ever got was to have a director of  a play  tell  me  that she loved working with me because I "think in the abstract".  The one thing that is a hindrance to my finding a job is that I can not stand on my feet all day.  I recently had a knee injury that makes climbing a lot of stairs difficult but not impossible.
